If everything was working, and had been working for a substantial period of
time, and everyone had agreed that the process was working well -- and then
they changed some process internal to them alone -- then the answer is (or at
least should be) the same as it would be for any similar business
relationship: it is clearly their responsibility to make their processes work
as they always have in the past if they want to continue their business
relationship with you.
