No reason that I am aware of. I have the hp3000links.com site hosted
in Leicestershire in the UK.
I don't think it really matters what your URL really is as it can be
hosted anywhere in the world.
I think it is only a convention to use co.uk, for example, for a UK
company whereas it could equally be a Chinese company hosted in
Australia!
