Many years ago we had success converting old contract files written in
slate to the PC world. I remember that we uploaded the files to a PC
through Reflection, then opened them using Microsoft Word or some such
word processor. There was garbage in the file to clean up, but the
find/replace function worked nicely. I *can't* remember, though,
whether we first converted the file in slate to ascii before uploading
to the PC.
You might give this a try...
