I still use NETIPC. But I have similar experience at times (not all but more
than once).
After I call IPC_SHUTDOWN, I call sclose from SOCKETRL.NET.SYS. That always
seems to
work.

Wish I could figure out why a socket doesn't shutdown in the IPC_SHUTDOWN
call.
