Nathan,

Can you answer a question?

1. What is AQ/3000 and what does it do? (In other words, is it an
integral, critical part of your environment?)

AQ/3000 is an overgrown version of Query/3000. Instead of Query, we
use AQ. We currently have numerous, over 100, AQ/3000 procedures (query
procedures) that are used daily/weekly intensively. The conversion time
would be tremendous.

2. Does 3K & Associates have any plans to do any Y2K remediation /
testing on the product?

        From my best guesses, NO.

3. Is the product still being marketed by 3K & Associates? (I can't
find it on their web site...)

The product is not actively marketed by 3K Associates. It is provided
as HP3000 shareware. 3K Associates assumed the rights to the product
from Polaris, Inc. (Who originally made the product for The Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency. Its a long and storied past I'm
sure. :) ) That is about the extent of my knowledge of the product's
background.

4. Do you have the source code available? (In days gone by some
companies actually provided source code for products which they decided
to no longer actively market...)

No, I do not have the source code available.

5. Is it possible to obtain permission from 3K & Associates to have a
3rd party doing remediation and/or Y2K validation on your behalf?

I don't know. But, I would be very curious to know my cost involved.
:)

I appreciate your help and I look forward to your reply. Please note,
I have cc'd 3k just as you did. We might knock an apple off the tree if
we shake hard enough! :) Thanks.
