Tracy,

When the DTC is rebooted it broadcasts it hardware address onto your network
and then request a configuration upload from the first 3000 to respond.

Subject: DTC Download Trivia - Which HPe3000?

I have two HPe3000s with the same DTC configured on both.
This is normally so that the DTC ports can be switchable
between the two systems. Althought the DTC configuration
on both machines in NMMGR is not exactly the same for the
same DTC.

Therefore I noticed when one DTC was re-booted, it downloaded
it's configuration from one HPe3000 instead of the other.

What mechanism is it that tells the DTC, to download its
configuration from one HPe3000 instead of the other?

Both HPe3000s are on the same LAN segment.

My current workaround is to yank the LAN cable off the
HPe3000 I DON'T want it to download from, having no other
choice, the DTC downloads from the correct HPe3000. Since
the other HPe3000 is a test machine, disconnecting it from
the LAN doesn't bother me.
