If he has Dictionary/3000 (as opposed to the newer, but deprecated
SystemDictionary) he should have DICTDBU and DICTDBL in PUB.SYS and IIRC
they can unload and reload an Image database to disc. They also have the
advantage that they allow certain changes to the database structure when
reloading.
Another possibility is to use DBUNLOAD (or simply QUERY's "FIND ALL" and
SAVE commands) to dump each of the detail and manual master sets to flat
files and use DBLOAD to reload them individually. If he has SUPRTOOL I'd
expect him to be able to dump and load them even quicker.
