I have connected our Windows for Workgroups network (TCP/IP-32) to the
HP3000 (system 5.0 patch 4 using bundled software only). Using MS92
and winsock can log on and transfer files.
All is well until I try to use the ODBC side of things. Loaded G1.05
Hp PC API ODBC,did ANSTART ARPA. ODBC has MARKET as data source,
MARKDBE as database name (the DBE file) and NODE1 as server name
(domain name is NODE1.EDP.MASSEY-FERGUSON).
All I ever get in return for all this effort is "invalid server name".
After 8 hours this gets a bit tedious. I have tried all combinations
as server name. Does anyone out there have any suggestions before I
throw the PC at the HP?
Any help will be appreciated.
Brian, did you check the NMMGR configuration ? We need to have an entry
for an UK located NOVELL Net to be able to access our Germany located
IMAGE/SQL database out of an client-server application. We have this
network IP address in NETXPORT.NI.<node>.INTERNET.CISCO, as
B xxx.xxx xxx.xxx (way of seperation by '.' is essential !)
Probably this will help you.
