Hi All,

Thanks as usual for the FLOOD of most excellent responses :-). The quickest was for the on-site person to pull the drive we had swapped in, insert another and try again. We came up clean this time and are currently re-mirroring now, including the problem set that had the bad drive.

Thanks All !!!!!!!

In general it helps to get the previous couple of lines off the console output to establish context of the SA.

You can also try to add the "MESSAGE" option to the ISL command -- much more verbose boot messages -- have some type of console "log bottom" ready. Two cautions:
1) IIRC some versions of MPE have a limit on the number of parameters passed into "ISL>CMD p1 p2 etc" which is around 4 or 5.
2) Also, if you do this with some (INSTALL, UPDATE?) you might also get some prompts for interaction which you ought to CR through.

Good luck,

Jim

Ah,  this reminds me of an issue I had once.  Seriously.

Check for bent pins on the SCSI cables!

Dan,

Considering the last thing that changed was the disk drive, I am going to go with a hardware issue.

Of course

Is it possible to boot into SINGLE-DISC mode?  This will tell us if the OS on Ldev one is corrupt.

Hi All,

I had rebooted an N-Class (N4000-100-330 on MPE/iX 7.0) server after replacing an SC10 18gb drive.....I am getting repeated Sys Aborts with the following when trying to restart the system:

I have 'a' the message, but continue to get the aborts when trying to restart the system.

Any Ideas ????

TIA, Dan
