But seriously, if he promises to keep his room clean (and does) I'd let the
young man (he's almost a teenager) "decorate" his room the way he wants.
It's part of growing up and demonstrating responsibility. After all, mom
won't be there everyday in years to come when he's in a college dorm or an
apartment, and it would be best to establish sanity in one's abode now than
"go crazy with freedom" later.

Just my point of view. As a point of clarification, I wasn't allowed to put
up my Farrah Fawcet poster. :)
