Alt 128 is not decimal 128 in the Roman-8 character set. Welcome to the
wonderful
world of Microsoft....the characters that you enter with the Alt-combination
are not
really the Roman-8 equivalents at all, but are the oldstyle ANSI
characterset. For
example, ALT-233 is lowercase e with an accent grave. The Roman-8 character
set,
which is in use by Reflection and other terminal emulators, is really
decimal 197.
Alt-128, the funny Euro-Symbol, I believe, doesn't have an equivalent
Roman-8
representation....so Reflection, which is doing the translation for you,
changes it to a space.
It *does* have a representation in the Roman-9 character set, however, and
that is decimal 186!
You can check out http://www.robelle.com/library/smugbook/ansichar.html for
some more
fun with character sets...
To Get Reflection to use the Roman-9 character set, you can do the
following:
- Inside Reflection, select Terminal from the the Setup menu.
- Click on the Emulation tab
- Select Roman-9
- Click OK
Reflection will reset itself (and log you off if you were logged on :-))
Hope this helps!
