Mike , you suggested:

However, I tried this and got :
(Note: old file is JKEEP, new file is NKEEP)

util(SYS): build nkeep;rec=-50,1,f,ascii
util(SYS): l2 @keep
ACCOUNT=  SYS         GROUP=  UTIL

FILENAME  CODE  ------------LOGICAL RECORD-----------  ----SPACE----
                  SIZE TYP EOF LIMIT R/B SECTORS #X MX

JKEEP              50B  FA         154        154   1       32  1  1
NKEEP              50B  FA           0       1023   1        0  0  *

util(SYS): fcopy from=jkeep;to=nkeep;char;norecnum;upshift
HP31900A.05.02 FILE COPIER (C) HEWLETT-PACKARD CO. 1990

*139*DUMP OPTION: TOFILE RECSIZE NOT WITHIN LEGAL LIMIT

0 RECORDS PROCESSED *** 1 ERROR

Am I missing something obvious?

Cheers,

John Dunlop
