Job Description: 
.      Create stored procedures and packages 
.      Database design and construction 
.      Create reports and perform database queries 


Requirements/Skills: 
At least four years of solid experience with the following: 
.      Microsoft SQL Server 
.      Object based design and data modeling 
.      Microsoft OLAP, Crystal Reports 
.      Data Warehousing 
.      Use of databases as marketing tool (i.e. mass mailings/e-mailings) 
.      Internet personalization 
.      MYSQL and ORACLE a big plus

Media + Marketing has an opening for a Database Specialist within their 
Direct Marketing Business Unit. The position is located in Centerville, 
MD (Baltimore or D.C. area). 


We are looking for a dynamic individual who enjoys working with a 
variety of people. The Database Specialist will be in charge of a 
massive data consolidation project.  You will be required to access 
multiple heterogeneous (SQL Server & Oracle) databases of customer 
information and architect a scheme to consolidate this data into one 
centralized database (Oracle). Data transformation mechanisms need to 
be established to consume and normalize the data from multiple sources 
on the ongoing basis, produce business aggregation reports and provide 
tools for end users.

Required Skills 
.      Strong Oracle including PL/SQL 
.      Strong Microsoft SQL Server including DTS and Transact-SQL 
.      Solid UNIX (Linux) skills 
.      Working knowledge of at least one data processing programming 
language (Python, Perl) 
.      Ability to effectively communicate with business owners to analyze 
the needs and gather information 


Required Skills 
.      Experience with some Java web applications container (Tomcat, 
Jboss, WebLogic, WebSphere) 
.      Java web application development (Struts, Hibernate, Velocity) 
.      HTML

Responsibilities: 


.      Install and administer Windows, Linux and Solaris platforms

.      Set up DNS 
.      Install and configure switches and routers 
.      Configure Load balancers
