I am evaluating a tool called "WebDimension" from Minisoft . You
will need to follow the directions from the "HP Driver for JDBC User's
manual" to create a database environment for your existing database together
with launching the JDBC monitor demon job, etc. You will have to purchase
WebDimension or some other tool (autobahn from speedware, M.B. Foster, etc)
to pass data from your browser to the HP and the database. Additionally,
you will need a tool like "Visual Cafe" (Java Development tool) to
actually create the front end applications (ie. Order status Inquiries,
Inventory Inquiries, self-service apps., etc). WebDimension will emulate
and enhance your existing screens and edits prior to passing the data to
your standard applications for further processing and feedback to the user.
Email Steve Rokne at Minisoft for specific info on their package.
