I can answer that one since I have just completed installing mirrored
drives.

NO. Not only should the drives be the same size but same block size and the
same manufacter. They should have HP firmware on them also. This can be
found using SCSIDSK2 under SYSDIAG. Also, be sure the drives have been
tested prior to creating the mirrored volume sets. What I learned would have
saved me a lot of aggravation. Purchase the drives and create a seperate
test volume. Run a diag program on those drives then when all tests pass,
create the mirror volumes. One last thing, make the partner drives identical
scsi id's. If you want to talk more about this I would be more than happy to
help out.

Subject: Mirrored Disk/iX Query....

Howdy y'all

I know that the manual states that disks must be the same model to use for
Mirroring purposes but can anybody say whether or not a 4gb SCSI disk can
be mirrored to a 6 or 9 gb disk ??

Any info in this area would be greatly appreciated - if you have done this
and don't mind answering some questions please get in touch.

TIA,
Mark.
