little buggers ain't UNIQUE!!! hehehe We use 'em in the military and people keep
finding dups!!!   after all think about it... the first 3 digits denote where
you got the number issued... so the most you could have say in the
 Oregon area

I ain't a gonna disagree, but......mine was issued in SeattleWa in 1959.
There are just a tad more than one million folks in Seattle currently
and considerably more in the state/region to say nothing of the people
who got their SSN in that neck of the woods and then moved on.
Makes me wonder about LA and NY.  Also many companies use
the SSN as an employee number ((:-)).  I think there's got to be
more to it.  Anyone care to chime in?
