1) Yes, I want to live in sunny southern California. Anyone want to trade
that for 3 feet of snow! :)

2) I think I would choose the 5am to 2pm shift... 12pm to 9pm seems like a
long shift!

3) All that work for 45k!?!?! Seems awfully low......

Positions Available: EDI Help Desk/Administrator

Monday through Friday (5am-2pm or 12pm-9pm).

Responsible for ensuring the smooth, error-free operation of all EDI
production tasks.   Will monitor and research any errors or problems with
EDI processing and take whatever steps necessary to resolve issues.
Requires a strong team player with exceptional problem-solving skills and a
commitment to follow-through.


- Using appropriate in-house tools to validate each EDI transaction for
success or failure.

- Follow transactions through entire process flow to ensure records are
actually posted/updated to the appropriate files, databases, and systems.

- Diagnose and resolve all transaction errors.

- Be vigilant in knowing proactively whenever there are problems or changes
with trading partners and communicate those issues to appropriate personnel
in-house (e.g., trading partner's holiday schedules,
days off, scheduled down-time for maintenance, network outages, VAN errors,
phone lines down, etc.)

- Establish a contact list of technical and business support personnel at
each trading partner site to
communicate with daily.

- Escalate critical issues to management.

- Work closely with software developers to communicate errors or request
assistance in troubleshooting.

- Work closely with computer operators to communicate errors or request
assistance in troubleshooting.

- Maintain problem log and EDI statistics.

- Assist with creating EDI documentation and procedures.

- Desired prior knowledge and experience with Electronic Data Interchange.

- Desired but not required systems knowledge:

        HP3000
        HP9000
        NT servers
        GEIS  -   G.E. Enterprise EDI Application Software

Salary range up to 45K DOE.
