On Saturday, ABC did a special involving youth in the NYC area. They were
asked questions about how they feel, are they worried, etc.
In this group was a young lady, 16-18 years of age, who is from Afghanistan,
studying in NYC. She made the same statement that Bin Laden was not from
her country and that the Taliban was a radical religious group that didn't
follow traditional Muslim beliefs. She said she was not happy with people
labeling Afghanistan women as being ignorant and uneducated because that's
the reason she was in NYC was to gain a good education.
There was also a religious leader from the Muslim faith there and he made in
interesting comment. He said Muslim's, Jews, Hindu's, Christians, all
worship the same God, they just have a different name for Him. He said the
individuals who committed this cowardly act do not practice what Moslems
believe. I believe he also stated that these individuals will be in Hell
according to the Muslim Faith.
One interesting comment made by one teen was, "I guess the reason I don't
feel anger, fearful, or sorrow for the lives lost is because maybe I rented
INDEPENDENCE DAY one to many times." !!

I have seen this post on a couple of unrelated lists now and I would like to
know its validity. Mir Tamim Ansary is listed as a children's book author
and you can find his titles on Amazon. I cannot find any corroborating
evidence of this text though. I have written his publisher asking for some
kind of confirmation. But I am starting to wonder...
