Tom,
Have you tried placing quotes around the line in your command file? The
command would be the same except add single or double quotes around the
redirection statement. It would display as 'defragx.defragx.lps<stdin1'.
Not pretty, but it would display the command without trying to execute it
(*I think*).
Good luck! :-)

Subject: [HP3000-L] Anybody want to take a crack at this?
Hello fellow MPE-ers:
I'm trying to display the following line from a command file:
defragx.defragx.lps<stdin1
using the command: echo defragx.defragx.lps<stdin1.
Naturally, the command file tries to execute the echo statement using the
file stdin1 as input. Duh?? I'm trying several workarounds but keep coming
up short. Anybody out there tried anything similar? Thanks!!

P.S. I've tried things like:echo defragx.defragx.lps![chr(60)]stdin1
(doesn't work either!!)
