You might also want to have a look at the (table of contents of
the) manual "Getting started as an MPE/iX programmer" (or alike)
which I found in the past to provide a good "quick start" from
logon, over general concepts, account structure, using editor,
compiler and linker, as well as a little bit on data management
like KSAM or IMAGE(?) -- your milage may vary, but at least give
it a brief look.
