What can we do to help reverse the decision to put the 3000 out to
pasture? I can't believe filling out web forms is going to have an
impact, chances are that the executives will not see them or even hear
about them.

Was the decision made to kill the 3000 because of the merger? If the
merger fails could the decision be reversed?

I'll be honest having to replace 20+ years of in house developed
software is scaring the heck out of me. We've survived for years on a
minimal staff, I see that ending soon. My first thought is that it
couldn't be worse timing with the economy not doing so well, but it may
be a blessing. There is more talent on the market and vendors may be
more flexible in their pricing. It may turn out to be a good thing for
our company in that it will give us a chance to reengineer both the
software and the way we operate.

Right now I am not sure what the future will bring. We must find a way
to deal with what ever may happen, we can not let HP's decision harm our
respective organizations. As Alfredo quoted "Failure is not an option".
I feel for those companies who rely on income from products they
developed to support the 3000. It's amazing how many people inside and
outside of HP this is going to effect.

I really hope the death of the 3000 lines doesn't happen.
