Before you assert MPE's superiority as a defense against digital fauna--I
might add, I've never heard of a AS-400 virus either.  I'm quite sure we
would be vulnerable were access to HP-3000s and AS-400s as widespread as
Windows, Linux, and Mac.

Our primary defense against viruses seems to be rarity, limited
connectivity, and obscurity; while these offer SOME protection, I wouldn't
want to bet lives and career on Security via Obscurity.

Lately we have been reading hundreds of warnings or new virus alerts. Almost
on a daily basis, everyone receives at least one virus through emails  that
get blocked by antivirus software (or maybe they just programmed so their
software will show that it blocked a virus, so we will be happy and renew
their yearly maintenance). As far as I know NO VIRUSES ever hit to HP3000.
Doesn't HP think that  this can be the greatest marketing of all....???
Instead, they eliminate  this wonderful machine and go with the rest of the
world and pushing for their  PC
servers...  Pity!!!   Thats all I can say!
