I have been "using" o/s 6.5 for about 4-5 months now and also installed the same at few other clients of my employer. Being more of a software person, I do not have much detailed knowledge of 6.5's relationship with all other software. All I know is that it has NOT caused any problems for me. I also know that 6.5 in not compatible with some older models (2.0 and 4.0 GB) disk drives. However, the biggest drawback I have encountered is with "sysdiag". The old utility "sysdiag" is not there anymore. It now runs under new support tool manager (CSTM) for which you have log on as "MANAGER.SYS". (There is a new udc available which makes it possible to run CSTM from any location, but I have not tested it yet). CSTM is a royal pain in ...errr....ears. The only advantage of CSTM is that under o/s 5.5 when sysdiag was aborted (with "CTRL-Y" or any other method) it was rendered inaccessible till the system was rebooted. Now under CSTM it is possible to abort from sysdiag. The only people who would appreciate this feature are the ones who had to work "after hours" to reboot the system. I wan't be surprised to find that the people who "invented" CSTM also owns stocks in the company that makes Excedrin. (Once again, the opinion is mine and not that of my employer- though my bosses do not disagree with me on my opinion.)

  Subject: Operating System Vers 6.5

  Hello Everybody,

So what is the verdict on 6.5? Worth the upgrade? Any Problems? I need this info to figure out when/if I will be upgrading(currently running version 5.5, no future plans to use server with Internet either).

I heard that sysdiag has mysteriously been excluded? Is this operating system more like unix?(another rumor I also heard). Any feedback is Greatly Appreciated.
