James, it would surely help to know which powerpatch and which beta patch
were sent. Pending confirmed information from you, I can only make
assumptions.

Let's assume that hp sent you C.65.02. That's a safe bet. Of course, since
it contains the latest 6.5 enhancements, it's a wise idea to install it.

Now, for the beta patch. IF (that's a BIG 'if') it's one of the recently
mentioned networking, FTP or DTS patches, it's (in my view) safe to install
it. These patches should be installed after C.65.02. In any case, you should
check (or have someone else check for you) if these beta patches have any
kind of dependency on any C.65.02 patch.
