At the risc of having Denys enlighten me on what I've done wrong,
I have a 18GB drive as ldev 3 (internal). Here is my DSTAT

:dstat all
LDEV-TYPE STATUS VOLUME VOLUME SET - GEN
  ---------- ------- ----------------------------------
     1-ST34573N MASTER MEMBER1 MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET-0
     2-ATLAS10K2-TY MASTER DEV1 DEV-0
     3-ST318406LW MASTER LAB1 LAB-0

It says its an LW, not an LC. I would have to find the instruction sheet,
but it seems it had some jumper to switch between LVD and SE.
(and yes, I have an ATLAS drive, purchased from ClubMac 9G, external).
(yes, ldev 2 is external, ldev 3 is the 2nd internal disk).

But mine is not a production box. Just lite development.
I suppose a disk thrashing program would be nice to test with.
