Hi Folks,
recapping here:
I have the upshifted /usr/lib/lib*.sl and /lib/lib*.sl libraries
which was caused by updating to Quest's Netbase v.10.0
I contacted Quest and they sent me a new "Autolib" file
to put on my machine. Instructions are to rename the
existing autolib file to save it, copy the new autolib file
into place, run "autoinst" and everything should be dandy.
But it blew up giving an error as follows:
Error : Can't arm AIF:PE traps (2038/0)
Status : Error detected: processing aborted (#2038)
Program terminated in an error state. (CIERR 976)
Quest said this was due to "procedure exits" being
disallowed on my system. I just needed to run
PEUTIL.PUB.SYS
type ALLOW
then EXIT
and rerun AUTOINST.
I did that and got another error similar to the first but the
numbers in the parens after "traps" was different.
Quest is looking into this one, they've been attentive to
my problem, so I've no complaints about them, however
my question for anyone who knows is...
What is PEUTIL.PUB.SYS? Where do I find documentation
or help on it? (Typing help inside PEUTIL is an unknown
command, so is "?"). Anyone have a good general
rundown on this utility? I went the docs.hp.com and can't
find more than the Utility name listed in some obscure
manual that wasn't very helpful.
