Could this be confusion over what MS started with WebDAV, but which they
also call "web folders"? See <http://www.webdav.org/other/faq.html>, for
instance. While having a few things in common with ftp, it is fundamentally
a set of extensions to HTTP. While MS started it, it is now RFC 2518, and
controlled by the IETF WebDAV Working Group. If this is the source of the
confusion, then we have little to worry about. There is a mod_dav for
Apache; I suppose it could be compiled and ran on MPE.

Huh? I don't recall having too much trouble accessing the MPE ftp server
from IE / Explorer. I do recall seeing an issue with IE trying to display
MPE filespace artifacts (LISTFILE,2) as though they were filenames, but I
thought that this was not a show stopper.
