HPSUSAN must not change ... it's possible to keep the HPSUSAN but add
another CPU. HP CEs use a special S/W called SSCONFIG to make this
available.

In any case, you should contact all your 3rd Party S/W suppliers early
enough on the planned change and the outcome for HPSUSAN so that they could
give you the right codes (and quotes) if needed. It varies by S/W.
We upgraded 995-800 to 997-800 recently, and not all S/W needed add. $$ or
new license keys. In some cases only the maintenance fee may change.

Best regards, Andreas Schmidt, CSC, Germany

Ron,

You may get license issues, because normally your HPSUSAN will change due
to
the new processor.

Some products like MPE/iX related products like the COBOL and C compiler
have license fees that are linked to the CPU power of the system.

Some application suppliers have this policy too and some license manager
tools check your HPSUSAN and will stop your license if the HPSUSAN related
code check fails.
