You could just use the copy subtree function to get the DTC configuration
into a new NMCONFIG

        Christian,

Another possibility would be to simply recreate the NMCONFIG
file from
scratch. There usually isn't much in it, a few profiles, a couple
DTCs, the
LANIC configuration, etc. In fact, I usually do recreate it when
I'm
setting up a new A or N class server. Now if there are hundreds of
profiles
and/or DTCs then it would take longer ;)

        Thanx,
                Jon

OK, understood. What I was not aware of was that you were in the
process of
a 5.5 to 7.0 migration, which HP does not support. I'm really not
sure that
NMMGRVER on 7.0 can convert a 5.5 NMCONFIG. I never attempted that.
Perhaps
it works, perhaps it does not.

Another possibility would have been to install the 6.0 or 6.5
version of
NMMGRVER, convert the NMCONFIG, then reinstall the 7.0 NMMGRVER and
re-convert. this too would be unsupported by HP. I never attempted
it, but
        perhaps it would have worked.

OK, now MPE is taking the Linux trail, with lots of perhaps in the
        replies...
