Our IBM operations staff has had the same problems for years with our HP systems. I asked
and asked for something from HP, but nothing ever came of it. So I
went out and wrote my own little reply program. It was contributed
to the INTEREX CSL at the 92 Conference in New Orleans. It is called
TAPETERM and is index number 3077.

It is simple, but our operators love it. You do need an additional
dedicated terminal, an old 2392a works nicely for us. You can usually
pick one of these up for little more than pocket change.

Like I said nothing fancy, but it works and is available today from INTEREX.
