DLT I/O Error Question

I've seen these errors before on a DLT drive and normally ignore them.  I'm
curious as to what it means, can anyone throw me an answer?

10:22/20/Vol (unlabelled) mounted on LDEV# 15
10:23/20/LDev 14 I/O error ignored during AVR.  I/O status % 74
10:23/20/Vol (unlabelled) mounted on LDEV# 14
