That was taken care of by the Draft 10 pthreads implementation. I
just never got around to completing the port. At this point, unless
someone wants to fund it, it probably will not get done.

Nevertheless, gcj can be used to produce bytecode as well as natively
compiled java. It used to be much faster than javac (I have not
tested it against hotstpot, so I don't know if that is still true).
