I *really* like this idea! It would actually help in three ways:
1) Employers would know what they were getting when they hired someone.
2) The MPE-certified individual becomes more marketable and can
(perhaps) command better salary because he's certified. I've seen this
many times over with MS & Novell certified techs.
These are the standard arguments. Now I'll throw in one you may not be
expecting.
3) It becomes another marketing tool for HP! Think about it: How much
free marketing (not to mention cold hard cash!) does Microsoft get from
every time someone asks one of its MSCE's, "How can we do thus-and-so?"
They come up with a *Microsoft* solution because they've been *trained*
to. MPE certification could do the same thing for the HP3000. Think of
the possibilities...
