I will try not to belabor the point, since it can be found nicely handled on
most any anti-spam sight, but I do not pay for the paper or postage for any
junk mail I get, nor for any solicitations I receive on the phone. But I do
pay for spam, both for processing it on our email server, and for wherever
it is stored, and I pay my ISP for storing and processing it, etc. I
recently read about the UDP (USENET Death Penalty), which quite a few
consider unfair. So the participants in executing UDP decided to remove
their spam filters for one day. And USENET was essentially shut down.
Spammers basically could care less what they cost others. I don't believe
that this is a problem with the USPS and bulk junk mail.

Maybe our digital age will move us to consider that my information is
private, and when I share it with a company, I do so for my benefit, not for
theirs. Any other use they make of that information is basically an abuse,
especially when they sell it to someone else for their profit.

I choose TO FIGHT BACK!

I agree. But it isn't just email. Apparently it's any avenue of
communication where the consumer is the end point. I get lotsa spam in my
snail mail box. And lots more on the phone.
