We don't truncate the FLIMIT to EOF as LZW has an Append option, and
we'd just as soon not have to re-build the archive to add new files to
it. Besides, on MPE/iX:
FLIMIT not reduced:
FILENAME CODE ------------LOGICAL RECORD----------- ----SPACE----
SIZE TYP EOF LIMIT R/B SECTORS #X MX
LZWFILE 665 256W FB 10825 4096000 8 21664 14 *
FLIMIT reduced to EOF:
FILENAME CODE ------------LOGICAL RECORD----------- ----SPACE----
SIZE TYP EOF LIMIT R/B SECTORS #X MX
LZWFILE 665 256W FB 10825 10825 8 21664 14 *
Nothing saved by trimming.
