That's strange. Anyone without STREAMX having a similar error?

Thank for pointing this out. I forgot about this possible case.

As Jeff already mentioned, chmod 777 is NOT QUITE ADVISABLE for the
/usr/local directory. Better use chmod 755 or even 555. This should
be perfectly sufficient for Samba's and other needs. (For those of us
who don't think in octal... 777 matches rwxrwxrwx permissions whereas
755 matches rwxr-xr-x and 555 is left as an exercise to the reader ;)

Glad to hear :)

My experience with NMBD is next to zero as my PC's and 3000 are on
different subnets (never tried the trick using a "guest/relay" in
the PC subnet as I did not want to bother finding one and its owner).

My experience with Windows 95 is -ahem- marginal.
So I hope someone else can help with this issue.

Regards, Lars.
