Most so-called integrated solutions that your talking about have
modules that barely manage to talk to the same product's other
modules. Many are made up from bits and layers from multiple,
changing "partners" with layers and chewing gum for integration.
YOu have to have a third machine to "configure" the product on
before upgrading to a new release, otherwise you'd be down for three
days or more (the other two machines are needed to keep the production
system running).
The difference with MPE is that you get to choose your system
integrator and they do it as custom work that works for you company
instead of the one size fits all stragegy too common among the more
successful at marketing put over on you. With the MPE way you get a
better fitting, more robust solution that fits your business needs,
and with costs less to obtain and less to operate and less to upgrade.
