This is personal opinion, but it is derived from over twenty years in the
business: I never put a ".0" release of an OS into production, unless I
absolutely must have a feature in order to run. In the case of 6.5, if you
do not need large file support, I would hold off until at least PP2 is
available. Think for a moment all the tweaking that had to go into large
file support. If you put an early release of an OS into production you are
dooming yourself to the frequent application of reactive patches. If you
have the luxury of a test or crash and burn machine, go ahead and test 6.5,
but realize you will probably not be able to stress test it.

5.5 PP7 is very stable and 6.0 PP2 looks good. If you are on 5.5 PP7 and do
not need the functionality of 6.0 or 6.5, I'd wait until 6.5 PP2 is released
before updating 140 systems.
