Don't have my manuals handy, but I do have a problem handy.

If memory serves doesn't Image take a look at the end of a
sorted chain to see if it can just add the entry to the end before
going through all the monkey business necessary to place it in
the appropriate position within the chain?

Also, could someone please send rain down here?
