Although this answer currently falls in the category of vaporware, and thus
I'm somewhat reluctant to answer on that basis, one solution will be the new
forms mode of QCTerm.

The work on QCTerm forms mode has languished for the past year simply because
of other demands on our time, but it's now risen to number one on the
priority list. We're having a meeting this weekend here at AICS Research's
Galactic Headquarters Building with everyone who will finish up the project.

I first demonstrated the forms capability three years ago at Interex, but due
to constantly shifting demands, forms mode has always fallen to the bottom of
the stack of number one priorities. Nonetheless, there's very little left to
be done on the forms mode, so I am sure that we should be able to finish it
up quite quickly.

As for cost, QCTerm will continue to be free, but the use of the forms mode
material in QCTerm will be $50/seat. The developer's cost will be zero (other
than perhaps one seat). As for ease of programming, Ray's comment about
ACCEPT and DISPLAY is pretty close to the mark. All of the complexity of
VPLUS disappears.
