Dear SIB Voter,

Thank you for taking the time to vote. This year, more so than in the
recent
past, your votes will influence CSY activities for the next year. We
realize
that the process was a bit rushed, and we hope that the next SIB vote can be

done allowing more time for discussion and debate.

The final ballot results can be found at:
   http://www.interex.org/advocacy/survey/mpesib01results.html

Here are some trends we see:

  1. you realize the importance of Image and Java, evidenced by your
high votes to make Image thread safe, and you votes for the other
     Java items.

  2. you want the e3000 to be capable in the internet world, seen by
your votes to bundle sendmail, to enhance Samba, to improve Java,
to provide PHP, openSSL, NTP, and perl.

  3. you want some control over how MPE handles powerfails and recovery.

  4. you want to improve your core MPE environment via system level CI
variables and the ability to access all of the disk space on
     LDEV 1.

CSY has already begun to analyze in greater depth the top 11 items. We
are looking at effort, support costs, available engineering skill match,
and overall schedule. We hope to announce within the next month the items
that CSY will begin to implement.

Thank you for taking the time to vote. Please let CSY and/or your SIG
leader know of ways to improve the process, especially suggestions on how
to get more folks to vote.

regards,
 CSY R&D team
