I most wholeheartedly agree. I was only reporting what I have been
reading. And - while discussing various issues with a HP employee
within the last month they used the same term. I think there has
been some in-house proliferation going on :-)
I think Intel might be also be concerned about similar feelings
toward their arch rival AMD given recent product announcements
in the 64-bit Intel chip space. It is definitely foolish to
go about dismissing competitors, especially those who have
shown a great ability to compete fiercely.
And how about Apple? They are making some very interesting
strategic moves recently which might end up giving ms some
real problems. And I bet Bill and co have definitely viewed
Apple as 'irrelevant' WRT the desktop.
