I agree that historically ISIT has had a "we make the rules, do what we say"
attitude.  But I don't work for the users, I work for the General Manager of
the
business, and it is HIS money I am spending when I have to support anything
and everything the user decidesto buy.  He doesn't like that.
What we have agreed, is that we want to do what is best for the business.
Therfore ISIT works with the users to identify and purchase the tools that
will
get the desired result at the best total cost.  A significant element of the
cost of
any solution is the on-going support costs.
If I have to employ additional resources to support something the users want
to
do, that adds less value to the business than the costs it adds, guess what
the answer is going to be.
By the way, I use this "model" at 9 locations on 3 continents.
