Alternatively, make an entry in your HOSTS file that looks like this:

127.0.0.1       ad.doubleclick.net

Some others I've added are:

127.0.0.1       leader.linkexchange.com
127.0.0.1       ad.linkexchange.com
127.0.0.1       www.smartclicks.com
127.0.0.1       www.eads.com
127.0.0.1   ads.msn.com
