I don't think so.  That's like suggesting that Adager isn't very
valuable because the Image structures are completely documented.  It's
not so much the complexities of reading :STORE tapes (of which there are
several) that make the product interesting, but the things it does for
you once it gets the data off the tape.

I also expect that it's quite likely that HP will release the :STORE
tape format details to anyone who asks for them.
