Hello Folks,

Re: HP3000 Trace Routes

-------------------------------------------------Stoney Ratliff writes--
Is there a way to run a command or utility to see trace routes on a ping
from the HP3000 for the IP addresses of the hops on a Network? The
ping.net.sys seems to be limited. Under the Posix shell the "ping -o "
option like from UNIX does not work, neither is there something like a
NT/DOS tracert that I can find on the HP3000. Thanks in advance for any
help.

The current status of TraceRt on the 3000 is, it passed Alpha Testing
(Thank You very much to all of the folks out here on 3000-L who helped
out in this testing) and it 'was' being sent out on Beta Test patches
on both 5.5 and 6.0 until we identified a corner case system abort
which was seen on Token Ring and FDDI links and attributed to the
TraceRt code.

The TraceRt code currently has been pulled from the Beta Test patch
stream and is being reworked and will be reintroduced into a Beta
Test patch coming your way soon.

The current 5.5 NSTFDJ7 and the 6.0 NSTFDJ5 General Release patches
do not include the TraceRt code.

I Hope this helps... I will notify this news group (very soon) when
TraceRt is again available as a Beta Test patch.
