The memory I am using is Kingston.

I had the same problem with my Acer laptop. I found that if I installed
the maximum memory (4GB), it only saw a little over 2.5 GB.

So I installed 2GB and one of the original 1GB boards, and it then
showed about 10 MB more than when it had 4GB installed.

I guess, ACER does not know how to add when it comes to memory.

NOW, my Compaq laptop faired a little better. Its maximum is 3 GB's.
4GB if it is dual channel. At 3GB, it saw most but not all of the
installed memory.

If I installed the 4GB (not dual), it only saw 2GB ????

Olav.
