Dave,

The last time, about a year ago, that I tried to use FTP to append to an
existing MSG file I got an error indicating that such a file access was NOT
supported through FTP. I have not tried it recently but I'd think that
the situation is still the same.

On possible way to implement such a functionality would be to transfer the
file to the HP and then submit a job that would append the contents of the
file to the existing MSG file.

In our case we used the approach of placing the files into a specific
group, with unique file names, and developed a script that is initiated by
our scheduler (SLEEPER) at startup, that continuously 'monitors' that
specific group. Once a file is detected the script 'process' the file and
removes it from the group.

Regards

Good question from one of my coworkers. I could turn it into a research
project or just ask the list!

Want an NT to FTP a record or records into an existing MSG file on the 3K.
What special machinations are required?
