i've got an odd problem (of course, this is longs...what
else would i have? :-).... on my production box, i've got
several *large* allbase databases. we don't seem to have
sufficient(ly willing?) in-house expertise to be a dba for
allbase. soooo, for you folks that are running allbase --
do you have a designated dba? (is allbase that comparable
to other relational databases?) if you don't have a dba,
how are you handling maintenance issues? ('taint no such
thing (unless i'm really confused (hehe)) as
adager/dbgeneral for allbase) i think i'm also asking about
something beyond basic maintenance...maybe more along the
lines of an 'analyst' (hmmm, do you think that's what the
'a' stands for in 'dba'? hehehehe (tm, art bahrs)).
