Use set_parms hostname - this will take you into a dialogue where you
change the hostname and then reboot :-

Usage: set_parms <argument>
   Where <argument> can be:
hostname
timezone
date_time
root_passwd
ip_address
addl_netwrk
font_c-s
or initial (for entire initial boot-time dialog sequence)

Subject: [HP3000-L] OT:HP-UX help!!

I realize this is not the forum, but I am up against the wall and I know
some of you cross over and I'm on hold with the response center.

My problem is this - I need to change the system name and hostname on my UX
box. I use the hostname command and the uname -S command to reset the names.
I have done this as root from the console.

No problem, except when I reboot, the old name comes back in both places.
What should I be doing? Do I need to set it somewhere else? I found nothing
in SAM about host name.

TIA
steve
